Szerenád Trió are all Year 13 students from Rangi Ruru Girls' School in Christchurch.

They chose to play Kodály’s Serenade. If they were to sum up this piece in three words, they would describe it as a ‘weird Hungarian rave’.

They discovered Kodaly’s music after wading through many chamber music videos on Youtube. Serenade is full of Hungarian folk dance tunes that range from the delicate to the delirious. And the girls have found it to be a really exciting piece of music.
