In ‘Hine Raukatauri’, composer David Hamilton evokes the mythology of the eponymous daughter of Tane, who loved her flute so much that she chose to live inside it.

The flute of the Auckland Chamber Orchestra’s Jennifer Mori imitates the sounds of the pūtōrino and koauau, backed by strings, harp and percussion directed by Peter Scholes.

Recorded by RNZ Concert in Raye Freedman Arts Centre, Epsom Girls Grammar School, 23 June 2019

Producer: Tim Dodd

Engineer: Adrian Hollay
