The latest case is a 17-year-old male who presented a preliminary positive result during mass testing at the Saipan International Airport on 5 May.

He represents the first positive case in the CNMI for nearly three weeks.

The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation and the Covid-19 Taskforce said the person, who was asymptomatic, was now isolated at the Kanoa Resort facility and was being monitored.

Health authorities have begun contact tracing but they believed the case was not part of a new infection chain.
