There haven't been any physical classes since 20 March, with lessons moving online shortly afterwards because of Covid-19 restrictions.

For those without internet at home, packets of school work were distributed to students to be completed and returned.

The governor, Lolo Matalasi Moliga, said schools and students should start preparing for the new school year.

This usually started in September, but there was a possibility the starting date may be brought forward to make up for lost time.

Meanwhile the American Samoa Community College held a virtual graduation last week with high school seniors expected to have the same in early June.
