Pacific nurses see a bigger role in helping combat NCDs

More than 300 nursing leaders meet in Rarotonga this week to focus on what they can do to fight the spread of non communicable diseases.

The kaiwhakahaere of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation, Kerri Nuku, told Don Wiseman they want to see nurses taking a greater leadership role.

Practice Nurse Litia Gibson says reducing rates of rheumatic fever is often  opportunistic work involving testing entire families when just one member is ill.
