Crowds of farmers march on Parliament protesting forestry creep

From Checkpoint, 5:39 pm on 14 November 2019

Hundreds of farmers marched on parliament on Thursday, saying the countryside risks being swamped by tree planting and their livelihoods risk going to the wall.

They say slow-growing trees do not pay for jobs or services in small towns, and a traditional way of life is under threat.

Eric Frykberg and Rob Dixon were at the protest and filed this report.
