Burns survivor says White Island victims face a long hard road
A man who suffered burns to twenty-percent of his body after a go-kart accident says the victims of Whaakari-White Island face a long, hard road. Roger McKernan was just 13 when he recieved third-degree burns to his face, hands, neck and forearms. He spent the following years in-and-out of surgery, all while trying to learn how to accept what had happened to him. Mr McKernan spoke to our producer Katie Doyle about life after a horrific accident.
