Shoppers no longer waiting for Boxing Day sales

Major shopping events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Singles' Day could be changing the shopping habits of consumers who're increasingly choosing to shop earlier instead of waiting for the traditional pre-Christmas and Boxing Day holiday sales.

Official numbers show sales using electronic cards fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.8 percent compared with a near-3 percent rise in November.
