'Exhausted' Afghan villagers abandon inquiry - Deborah Manning

Earlier in June it seemed Afghan villagers at the centre of the Operation Burnham Inquiry might finally get a chance to have their voices heard in person.

But on Tuesday it was announced they've pulled out for any further involvement with the investigation.

The inquiry is looking into allegations that six civilians were killed in Afghanistan during a New Zealand-led operation in 2010, and that the military covered this up.
