Oranga Tamariki system must change - social workers' union

A social workers' union head is doubtful new law coming in on July 1 will ease the outcry over the removal of at-risk Māori babies into state care.

As criticism of Oranga Tamariki's treatment of at-risk babies increases, the Prime Minister is assuring the public that the system is changing.

But others are expressing doubt that changes coming in next month will make a significant difference.
