Three hundred years of history bowled over in a morning

From Morning Report, 8:42 am on 22 August 2019

The removal of four rata trees thought to be about 300 years old is being condemned by a Karamea local who says the regional council's ripped out history.

The four trees were bowled over on Tuesday to make way for a new flood stop-bank the council says is necessary to avoid an Edgecumbe-like flood. RNZ's Tracy Neal reports.
