Garth Cartwright, a New Zealand-born, London-based music and arts writer. He is the author of Princes Among Men: journeys with Gypsy musicians, More Miles than Money: journeys through American music, Sweet As Journeys in a NZ Summer and last year’s Going For A Song - A Chronicle of the UK Record Shop. Garth also contributed to Miles Davis: The Complete Illustrated History as well as writing for Time Out, Songlines Magazine, The Guardian, The and Sunday Times (UK). In this edition of the RNZ Mix Tape Garth talks to Trevor Reekie about hitting the road, exploring new places, absorbing the music and encouraging the musicians to tell their stories.
