Nick Bollinger remembers blue eyed soul man, raconteur Rick Bryant and poet, songwriter, screenwriter and stand up Arthur Baysting, both of whom died earlier this week. Nick and Yadana Saw reflect long cultural legacy that these two men have left on Aotearoa's creative landscape.

Their paths all crossed through bands like Rough Justice, Mammal and BLERTA, and remained as lifelong friends in acts the Windy City Strugglers.

Rick Bryant summoned an adolescent Bollinger to join his band, which Nick has written about in his memoir Goneville.

Nick recalls first meeting Arthur Baysting as his comic alter ego Neville Purvis when he was invited to join Rick Bryant's Rough Justice bus above.
