US China trade war poised to de-escalate

Part one of a deal aimed at de-escalating the tit for tat tariff war between China and the US is expected to be signed tomorrow.

The countries have been locked in a bitter trade battle for about 18 months and has seen them both impose tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars worth of one another's goods.

US President Donald Trump has long accused China of unfair trading practices and intellectual property theft, and in China, there is a perception that the US is trying to curb its rise as a global economic power.
