The late Eldred Stebbing’s recording and music production business has been a part of Aotearoa’s musical landscape since 1946. From the days of 78-rpm shellac recording to the age of the CD, and the digital download, Eldred and his wife and sons have played a vital role. The Stebbing and Zodiac record labels, established by Eldred Stebbing, includes a remarkable catalogue of local recordings that has contributed to the foundation for the Recording Industry, as we know it today. It’s a story of how determination, resourcefulness and creativity combined to create an enduring Kiwi success story.
