Armed police have stopped patrolling Wairoa, 10 days after a police officer's house and a station were fired at.

No arrests had yet been made but police continue to "make progress" with their inquiries into the two incidents, a spokesperson has said.
Special armed police units modelled on the new Armed Response Teams being trialled in Auckland, Waikato and Christchurch, were brought in from Gisborne and Hawke's Bay following the two shootings on 19 and 20 October.
A shot was fired through a door of an officer's house at around 11pm on the Saturday.
That was followed the next evening by two shots being fired at Wairoa Police Station, leaving the inside and outside of the building sprayed with pellets.
"Nothing further to report at this stage in terms of the gunshots, but police continue to make progress in our inquiries," a police spokesperson said.
"Police maintain a regular presence in Wairoa, conducting routine patrols in order to keep the community safe and feeling safe."
Some officers were routinely armed following the shootings but they no longer were, the spokesperson said.
