The Federated States of Micronesia has established diplomatic ties with Kyrgyzstan.

This week an agreement was signed in Japan by representatives from the two countries.
Kyrgyzstan media report the countries will cooperate through the UN and other international bodies.
The Central Asian country, also known as the Kyrgyz Republic, is nestled between Kazakhstan and China, and has a population of six million people.
