Manumea Choo Koon had pled guilty to the charge, which carries a maximum jail sentence of 10 years.

Last year, Choo Koon poured hot water on her husband while he was sleeping, inflicting severe burns to his upper body.

The court had heard the offence occured after the defendant discovered an extramarital affair between the victim and another woman, who fell pregnant.

The defendant and her husband have reconciled.
