Northern Marianas Covid-19 tally rises to 128

The Northern Marianas has recorded three additional Covid-19 cases, bringing the US territory's total to 128 cases.

The individuals were identified by travel screening and confirmed through testing upon arrival.

The passengers, as per protocol, have been put in quarantinein a designated isolation area.

The latest cases come as mass vaccinations continue.

Out of the 128 total Covid-19 cases, 102 were identified by travel screening while 26 were local transmissions.

There are currently five people in isolation.

The CNMI has had no local transmission for the past 146 days.

As the islands recorded the new positive cases, the CNMI received an additional 12,400 Covid-19 vaccine doses from both Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna Inc. last weekend, which will allow health officials to vaccinate a total of 6,200 people.

So far, a total of 18,650 vaccine doses have already been sent to the CNMI.
