AT THE MOVIES #874 THE ADULT SECTION
Simon Morris cries out for more adult movies and gets more than he bargained foer, with the return of two directors famous for steamy thrillers in the Eighties.
Morbius is proof that the words "Marvel Comics" are not always a guarantee of success. The title character is a "living vampire" played by Jared Leto (House of Gucci). Also along for the ride is friend Jared Harris (Chernobyl) and foe Matt Smith (Dr Who).
Deep Water is an Amazon Prime film, directed by Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction, Indecent Proposal). It stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas (No Time To Die) as a couple in a poisonous marriage.
And Benedetta sees the return of Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct) with a story of a real-life nun in Renaissance Tuscany who's accused of scandalous behaviour at the height of a plague. Features Charlotte Rampling (Juniper).
