AT THE MOVIES #901                   WHO’S IT ABOUT?

 

Simon Morris compares a big, crowded blockbuster with two smaller but rather more focused films from Finland and New Zealand.

 

 

Black Panther: Wakanda forever is the sequel to the hugely popular Black Panther that struggles without original star Chadwick Boseman.   Once again, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Angela Basset, Letitia Wright and Lupita Nyong’o.

 

 

 

Compartment Number 6 is a Finnish prize-winner at last year’s Cannes Film Festival.  Two very different people meet on a train to Murmansk in the Arctic Circle.   Directed by multi award-winner Juho Kuosmanen.  

 

 

And maverick documentary-maker David Farrier tackles his toughest and longest assignment, the notorious Mr Organ who first made headlines by clamping Auckland illegal parkers and charging them hundreds of dollars to be released.
