We pay tribute to Musician and songwriter Christine McVie, who is most known as vocalist and keyboard player of Fleetwood Mac.

2.10  LA's Automatic are bringing their unique sound Aotearoa 

LA Post Punk trio Automatic are set to bring their unique sound to Aotearoa in January next year.

The band formed in the L.A DIY Music Scene and released their second album earlier this year. 

 Izzy Glaudini, Halle Saxon and Lola Dompé talk to Charlotte Ryan about how they created their sound, their close family ties to Bauhaus and what life is like for musicians in 2022.

This week Elliot Childs is in reviewing the latest from Sheffield rockers Artic Monkeys and local band Soaked Oats. 

3.20 Introducing: Freyja

Freyja began her journey into the music scene as a drummer. Playing in numerous Wellington bands including mum-rock band Sure Boy.

In 2022 Freyja released her debut single 'Qualified 2 Love', a dream pop song which tells a tale of heartbreak and yearning.

Her solo project is melancholic, dreamy, "art pop" that draws inspiration from films, books, and other music.

3.30 Estere on her new EP 'Makara Peak'

Estere is a NZ Born musician who merges culture, stories and very interesting sounds into her music.

She has opened for Grace Jones, Erykah Badu and performed at international festivals like Glastonbury, Womad, Afropunk in Paris, and performed in Denmark, South Korea and of course Aotearoa - being the first artist to perform throughout the World of Wearable arts earlier this year.

We here at Music 101 are beginning to wrap up the year, and so today we are celebrating some of our favorite Mixtapes of this year. 

Over the next hour we are going to hear from Musician Warren Maxwell, Fashion Designer Karen Walker, Actor, writer and musician Richard O’Brien, Chef Peter Gordon, and writer Steve Braunias and they tell us about how music has played a part in their lives.
