1.30  Future Islands - Samuel T. Herring 

Baltimore synth-pop band Future Islands are returning to NZ for three shows throughout the country in February.
Frontman Sam T. Herring has had an interesting journey in music, starting out as a rapper before finding huge success with Future Islands and forming his latest hip hop project Hemlock Ernst.

Charlotte Ryan spoke to Sam about his songwriting and still finding inspiration in relationship break ups, and his hip hop career.

This week on Introducing its the Allophones, a new band from Ōtepoti's the [Allophones]

They are siblings Barney and Ben Connolly, with drummer Tane Cotton - The nephew of Shayne Carter.

They have announced a massive twelve date nationwide tour for February 2023, announced this morning with the unveiling of their debut single and video 'HUMAN'. 

3.30 Scalper on his new album Shine 

Scalper is the musical project of Nadeem - a UK born Pakistani musician who now calls NZ home. 

His first visit to Aotearoa was when he performed in a band at Womad Festival. Nadeem was so taken with our country, saying it gave his mind clarity, that he returned and has lived here for 15 years. 

He has just released his 5th solo album ‘The Shine’ a project inspired by the death of his mother.

Her latest venture is Co-Director of  FOLA: Festival Of Live Art  that runs from 15th-19th February at Basement Theatre and online to challenge perceptions and push the boundaries of performance and art.
