English-born, New York Based singer, songwriter, and visual artist ANOHNI has released a new album as Ahoni and the Johnsons - a throwback to her previous artist name Antony and The Johnsons.

The album is a tribute to legendary human rights activist Marsha P. Johnson, whose striking photograph adorns the album cover and  also the where name 'The Johnsons' came from.
Charlotte Ryan spoke with Anohni before the release of her new album 'My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross' released 6th July 2023.

2.00 Te Kaahu & Delaney Davidson 'I Ngooku Moemoeaa'

TE KAAHU is the brainchild of singer and songwriter Em Walker AKA Theia
This musical project of hers honours the craft and skill of Māori songwriting and storytelling and shines a light on the beauty and vulnerability in waiata Māori.

For Matariki she has released a new single - co written with Delaney Davidson -I Ngooku Moemoeaa.

Sure Boy have a reputation as ‘Wellington’s baddest girl band’, 

Their sound is fresh and gritty pop-rock group - self described ‘Mum Rock’.
Their new album ‘Better’ was released last month, and now they are ready to embark on their first ever tour throughout the North Island.

Following the release of their second album last year, 4 piece local band,  HANS PUCKET have had a busy year
They performed at SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier this year, they were nominated for a 2023 Taite Music Prize and won Favourite Group at the Student Radio Network Awards. 

And this weekend their much anticipated  'NO DRAMA' 13 date NZ tour kicks off 

Charlotte Ryan visited them where they were rehearsing at Whammy Bar on K 'Rd in Auckland.

Her work is known for being fresh, provocative and funny and has been featured in publications here and around the world.

In 2017, she won the best first book of poetry at the Ockham Book Awards and the 2017 Poetry Prize - and in the same year, Hera received a 2017 Arts Foundation New Generation Award.

When she’s not writing poetry, she is a bookseller by trade, and writes an advice column for The Spinoff called Help Me Hera.
