Throughout the show on Music 101 this week we are featuring songs from the great albums of 2023, as curated by the wider RNZ Music team - It's not a countdown as such, because we think they all have their special place in this years canon - So we've called it 'The Best Albums of 2023.'

3.30 Music 101 Live Session: Kirsten Morrell

Kirsten Morrell is best known as the vocalist behind the hugely popular NZ band Goldenhorse. 

Their 2002 album ‘Riverhead’ has become a cult classic here in Aotearoa - Songs like Maybe Tomorrow  and Riverhead have now been covered by many young artists today. 

After spending some years in the UK, Kirsten has returned to New Zealand, Aotearoa to release her new and upcoming album Morrellium.

From 2016, in North London, she launched and grew her yoga business SingingTreeYoga and is currently re-launching it here at home. 

Kirsten performed three songs from her new album 'Morrelium' for RNZ Music.
