7:30 My Brother's Keeper 

We continue to follow the life of the missing person's expert Diane Rowe in the reading of 'My Brother's Keeper'. Diane Rowe is a missing person's expert who's just discovered her client Karen murdered. Now with no chance of being paid, Diane wonders if she's pursuing the case just to avoid dealing with her own life. 

Alison Bruce picks up the story now with episode 6, which does come with a a warning due to the adult themes and offensive language.

7:50 Lower North Island Earthquake

The Lower North Island has been rocked by a strong earthquake.

The magnitude-6.1 quake struck at 7.38pm on Wednesday and was centred 50km northwest of Paraparaumu, at a depth of 48km. Geonet classified the quake as “strong”.

Paul Paynter's family have been growing fruit in Hawkes Bay since 1904. As of yesterday, 45 hectares of his orchards are totally under water in the Esk Valley - a rugby field is just over one hectare so an area the equivalent of 45 rugby fields.

He says the river silt smothered over the soil has changed over decades what they can grow there.

Paul is the general manager of Yummy Fruit.
 

9:30 Cathy Brown and the rescue of dog Hank

Usually it's the pet who moves in with the family. However, emergency situations call for emergency measures. 

Cathy Brown had to evacuate her Clevedon home along with her partner Darren and their Great Dane Hank. 

Unable to find a pet friendly hotel, Cathy and Darren have moved in with Hank at the Auckland Animal shelter run by animal rescue group HUHA - which stands for 'Helping you Help Animals'. 

9:40 Pablo The Missing Macaw

Three-year-old Pablo, a tropical macaw parrot, has been missing from his Russell home in the Bay of Islands for several days.

An incident two weeks ago sparked him to take flight and he's somehow made it all the way down to East Auckland.

His owners, Hamish and Lulu Peterson, are distraught, and have been frantically searching the suburb of Howick for Pablo.

Chanelle Whittaker is a friend of the Petersons helping with the search, and she joins us now with news of a possible sighting.
