This morning Adam Levy beat 6.3 million other players across the world to take out the number one spot.

Fantasy Premier League is a worldwide phenomenon, where participants create a fantasy team from players in the real EPL and receive points when players on their team score goals, make assists, or keep a clean sheet.

Mr Levy put his win down to learning to trust his instincts, rather than being swayed by the proliferation of "noise" about the best ways to play.

"I've played this game for six years now and I've got much better at just playing my own game and taking a consistent approach," he said.

"I try to use a logical and objective basis to make decisions right throughout the nine months - it's such a long game, it's a marathon."

Mr Levy stayed up to watch the games unfold last night and realised at about half time early this morning that he was likely to win.

"It's incredibly unlikely to win at all and no one is ever going to win it back to back.

"It's just one of those fantastic one off things that I'm enjoying and I think that will be it."

Mr Levy's prize package includes a seven night holiday in the United Kingdom with VIP tickets to two Premier League matches.
