Disney has released the first footage of The Mandalorian, a live-action Star Wars series that includes the New Zealand director and actor Taika Waititi voicing a robot.
The series, for the Disney+ streaming service, is about a group of people from the planet Mandalore, with the star a bounty hunter.
Waititi said it was really hard to find the voice of the droid IG-11.
He said it had to be really subtle, because he had to take away all emotion, but it couldn't be totally devoid.
The character has a really cool arc throughout the series, he said.
The Mandalorian will debut on 12 November in the United States when Disney+ is launched.

Waititi - who has already had a taste of blockbusters with Thor: Ragnarok - is also one of the directors of The Mandalorian by series creator Jon Favreau.
The new series, which will be set between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens will follow the "travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic," according to Favreau.
Other directors named today for the series include actress Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa.
