An Ashburton house where a 23-year-old man died last night is being forensically examined.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide.
They were called to an address in Tinwald about 11.45pm.
The man was critically injured and died at the scene a short time later.
The property has been cordoned off and investigators are examining the scene.
Detective Inspector Michael Ford said people were reportedly threatened at a party at the house, and he's asking for anyone with information about the party to come forward.
