Bodies recovered after glider crash near Taupō

The bodies of two people killed in a glider crash near Taupō have been recovered.

The aircraft came down at Mt Tauhara yesterday but weather conditions and difficult terrain prevented crews reaching them.

A helicopter carrying a specialist team reached the site today.

The Transport Accident Investigation Commission is looking into how the crash happened.

A rāhui has been placed on Mt Tauhara until Saturday.
