Michael Hill store in Takapuna ram-raided

An Michael Hill store has been ram-raided in Auckland, the latest in a series of break-ins targeting the chain.

Police said several people used a car to smash into the jewellery shop on Hurstmere Road, Takapuna shortly after 2am on Wednesday.

The ram raid comes days after a masked group robbed a Michael Hill shop at Westfield Albany mall.

The jewellery chain's store in Takapuna has been raided several times in recent months, as have its outlets in Pukekohe, Westgate, Glenfield Mall, Newmarket and Queen Street in the central city.
