A man who fled from police on a motorbike has been arrested in West Auckland.
The man had several warrants for his arrest and was identified at a police checkpoint in Piha just before midday.
He was involved in a lengthy chase involving multiple police cars, and abandoned his motorbike on Garden Road.
The man was arrested shortly after a resident reported the bike.
He is due to appear in the Henderson District Court within the next few weeks, and is facing several drug, assault, firearm, and driving offences.
