A protester accused of pouring tomato juice on British anti-trans campaigner Posie Parker - also known as Kelly-Jay Keen-Minshull - has failed to have their charges dismissed.
Eli Rubashkyn is accused of pouring tomato juice on Parker and one of her supporters.
In March, Parker held a 'Let Women Speak' event in Auckland which came to an abrupt end after thousands of trans solidarity protesters showed up. It was there the tomato juice was allegedly thrown at Parker.
Rubashkyn pleaded not guilty to the two charges and applied to have them dismissed.
Judge Claire Ryan said her decision to reject the application was not a political or moral statement.
She said she simply decided the case was sufficient to go to trial.
