Emergency services have rescued a person over a cliff in the Manawatū-Whanganui region early this morning.
Fire and Emergency said six fire trucks were called out to the scene in Mangaweka at 1:33am.
St John was notified about the incident at 1.34am and sent a ambulance and a helicopter, which winched the person out.
The person was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition.
