100 homes without power following Napier crash

About 100 homes have lost power in Napier after a car crashed into a power pole.

Police were called to the crash on Percy Spiller Avenue in Maraenui about 7.20am on Monday.

Police said the power pole fell onto the road, blocking it. Traffic management was in place.

Lines company Unison's website showed 94 properties in the area were without power.

It estimated electricity would not be fully restored until 2pm on Monday.

Hato Hone St John said no-one was injured in the crash.
