A small section of the Terrace in Wellington was closed for a short time this afternoon because of a fire in the Treasury building.
A spokesperson for Treasury says staff were evacuated about 4pm, after an electrical fire broke in the basement of the building.
In a statement, police said they were assisting Fire and Emergency crews with a call-out on The Terrace.
The Terrace was closed between Bowen Street and Aurora terrace, but reopened about an hour later.
