Three people facing nearly 150 charges of damaging vehicles and bus stops in 12 Wellington suburbs have appeared in court.

Two men and a woman were arrested late last week after police were inundated with information and footage relating to the offences which happened over three days in early January.

They appeared in Wellington District Court on Thursday morning.

One of the trio will appear in court again in a fortnight, while the other two will face court in early April.

Name suppression orders are in place.

Sergeant Brittany Allan earlier said the charges related to damage done between 7-9 January in Wellington's northern and western suburbs.

Bus shelters and windscreens were allegedly shattered, and rubbish bins set alight.

Allan said investigators were inundated with information from the public after putting out a call for information and video footage.

""Behaviour like this has no place in our communities," Allan said.

"People work hard and don't need the inconvenience, upset or costs associated with this mindless damage.

"Without the community's assistance, it may have taken us much longer to get to this result."
