Two women are due to start an attempt to set a world shearing record at about 7am on Tuesday.
Marg Baynes and her daughter Ingrid want to set a new mark for women's two-stand eight-hour lamb shearing.
They have until 5pm to shear at least 800 lambs.
The attempt is taking place at Mangapehi, in the King Country.
