This multi-media documentary project explores the extraordinary events which led to the invasion and examines their impacts on contemporary Aotearoa.

NZ Wars: Stories of Tauranga Moana is centered on two key encounters: the Battle of Pukehinahina Gate Pā and the Battle of Te Ranga.

Using dramatic reenactments, interviews, historical archives, haka, and digital animation, we bring to life the first-hand narratives of tangata whenua and tangata tiriti which have been passed down through the generations.
