MOZART: Fantasy and Fugue in C K 394

From Music Alive, 10:00 am on 4 February 2019

Douglas Mews considers that this piece perhaps gives us the best impression of Mozart's style of organ improvisation. It was written for piano, but surely with the organ in his mind.

A very elaborate fantasy introduces the equally complex fugue, which bring to mind those of JS Bach.
