Two of the passengers were identified through travel screening and testing upon arrival while two others were confirmed through fifth-day testing in quarantine.

All four people have been were moved into a designated isolation area and contact tracing has begun.

Out of the 111 cases in the CNMI, 87 are from incoming passengers including 45 from the US mainland, 30 from Guam and 11 from foreign countries.

The CNMI has now gone 112 days without any community transmission. The last community case was in early August.

Meanwhile local health authorities say incoming Covid-19 vaccines will only be made available to adults because the clinical trials on the vaccines did not test their efficacy on children.

Health experts say additional studies on the effects on children, could take several more months.

The CNMI expects to get their first cache of vaccines in December or early next year.

Previously, it has been reported that CNMI plans to conduct mass vaccinations at the Saipan International Airport.

There are plans to vaccinate 400-500 people a day once a vaccine is available.

The CNMI is looking to inoculate more than 70 percent of the local population that the federal government is hoping to attain in order to establish "herd immunity."
