From , 3:04 pm on 20 August 2019

In the Marshall Islands there are fears dengue fever may have spread to the capital of Majuro and a State of Emergency remains in place.

Health Secretary Jack Neidenthal told Jenny Meyer the number of cases on Ebeye Island is still rising and now two people on Majuro are sick with lab results pending from Hawai'i.

A 2011 outbreak of dengue fever in the Marshall Islands led US Navy and Marshall Islands government teams to collaborate on mosquito eradication around Majuro by spraying community areas, government buildings and homes.
