An attempt by opposition MPs in Papua New Guinea to remove the Marape administration has been delayed until the May session of parliament.

The votes are only possible 18 months into a government's term, but the first attempt last month was stymied by the government, which then attempted to reinforce its position with a somewhat controversial 'vote of confidence' in Mr Marape.
