The University of Auckland have recently launched a new initiative to improve Māori and Pacific University Entrance (UE) pass rates and increase success at tertiary level.

Partnering with twelve secondary schools, the university hopes that the initiative will boost students' academic success.

Māori and Pacific University Entrance attainment dropped from 40 percent in 2020 to 34 percent in 2022, compared with national UE attainment of 53 percent in 2020 and 50 percent in 2022.

Associate Director, Schools and Community Engagement, Liletina Vaka spoke with Pacific Waves host Susana Suisuiki.
