Change to stop pine forests earning carbon credits welcomed

The government has proposed a change to the Emission Trading Scheme that would mean permanent pine forests won't earn carbon credits.

It wouldn't affect pine planted for logging, as that falls under a different category.

Forest and Bird are backing the change, saying we should be incentivising the planting of native forests instead.
