Everest skydiver

From Afternoons, 2:10 pm on 28 May 2010

Wendy Smith is living proof that Kiwis can in fact fly. The Waipukerau sky diver jumped out of a plane near Mount Everest at the height of 8992 meters. Wendy was one of the first skydivers to freefall above Mt Everest from the same altitude in 2008, free-falling for one minute at speeds reaching 290kmph and landing at the Mt Everest Base camp.
