Wild weather has battered parts of New Zealand, bringing down trees and smashing windows in Waikato.
MetService has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the central and upper North Island which is in place until nine o'clock tonight.
The heavy rain and strong winds are being caused by a slow moving front, travelling from west to east - but it is due to ease tomorrow.
