Wage subsidies in govt's Covid-19 business rescue plan

Targeted wage subsidies are on the cards as the government looks to bolster the economy in the face of the fallout from Covid-19.

BNZ has warned New Zealand's risk of a recession is building by the day - upping its warning from 'plausible' to 'probable', while ASB is expecting no economic growth over the first half of 2020.

But the Finance Minister Grant Robertson announced that the government is working out the details of a business continuity package to support businesses and workers through a downturn.
