The jury in the trial of a police officer accused of raping his colleague has heard closing addresses from both sides in the case.

The man, whose identity remains secret on appeal, is on trial in the Auckland District Court after pleading not guilty to indecent assault and sexual violation.

The 29-year-old is accused of groping a female colleague during a boozy night with colleagues and later raping her as she slept in a Kerikeri motel.

RNZ court reporter Anneke Smith was in court today and filed this story.
