Demand for outdoor education on the rise

Under the Education Act school boards can approve a one-day-a-week exemption for pupils to head off and do a different type of learning.

And since the nationwide lockdown, demand for one-day a week nature, or forest school programmes, has skyrocketed.

RNZ reporter Emma Hatton and cameraman Samuel Rillstone got their own exemption for the day and left the office to file this report.
